Not sure exactly what that blast of snow was yesterday, but today has been in the 40's and somewhat sunny. Was Mother Nature just giving us one last "don't forget I'm here!"? I've heard there's more to come, but so glad it wasn't today!
M got up and off to school on time this morning...she was so ready to go back, and we were so ready to have her go back! She's a great kid and we love spending time with her, but the "curse" of an only child is that there's no one else to play with but Mom and Dad. That can become very old...especially after 3 weeks of it...for all of us! She needed to be around her friends again, and we needed her to have that time with kids and not us.
Amazingly I was also up and ready to head off to work this morning - in fact, for the first time in a long time, either D or I could have taken M to school (usually I'm still wandering in my PJ's when he leaves with her). Luckily I decided to send an email to the school that I go see kiddos at b/c it turns out that it's still closed for 2 more days. I'm not sure why, but I'm grateful for the 2 extra days to work on my inbox and take things slow easing back into work and such.
And now, I'm looking at the time of 5:30 and wondering where my day went! I made a Staples run for desk calendars and printer ink, and spent a lot of time gathering my thoughts and materials for a new year. I did take a little nap - my head was pounding after only a few hours of work this morning, but I do not want to take the antibiotics that were given to me as a "just in case". I'm so much better than I was that I want to give it another day - I just need to beat this head congestion and I'll be golden!
Now, I'm off to get dinner ready and take care of the dogs. And tomorrow will be another school/work day!
